"The hotel with a difference"

In February 2009 the co-founder and main share-holder Fritz Buser sold his block of shares to Dr. Peter Grogg. Following this changeover, the Administrative Board was also reappointed. In autumn 2009, the new Board instructed an external specialist to carry out a thorouh review of the strategy that has been in place since 2007.

 

The current situation with regard to this work, which focuses on processes, comes under the heading "the hotel with a difference". The project team was convinced that our existing values of "Swissness" and "Sustainability" should continue to underpin our strategy. However, especially in relation to "Swissness", there are a few points where improvements could be made, and there is also scope for further development of the fabric of the hotels themselves. At the heart of it all will continue to be our staff, because only with competent and enthusiastic staff will we be able to make our guests enthusiastic. This is why a great deal of the strategic work will be focused on this area – always with the aim of making the best possible use of the "collective intelligence" of our 400 employees, and so making the organisational and managerial framework conditions as effective as possible.
